Please do post your comments today. What would you like to see in this blog? What topics would you like to see discussed? What ideas do you have that you feel will allow us to reach more people with God's message of Love? Let us know today.

Hello,
I was just looking at the website for St. Denis, and i have to say it is great. I now can put things i would like to see at the parish that would make it more enjoyable as well as spiritual. I would like to see Priests make the homily come alive. I believe that if the priests enjoy talking about the readings and make connections, he should show it in his tone of his voive as well as by his facial expression. I always believe that if a priest speaks to the parishioners in a low and serious tone, no one will see the priest enthusiasm. I remember when father Ike was at st. denis, his enthusiasm during his homily came alive. It felt that he was talking to each and everyone at Mass. I know it might not happen overnight, but i do hope to see it at the 5:30pm mass on Sunday, because I want to see that.

I am a member of the church at St. Denis, and i would agree with the person of making the homily come alive. I sometimes feel that when the priest is not enthusiastic about the reading or connecting each story with current events, it makes me not put too much attention. I would like to see more enthusiasm during the homily to connect with the young crowd as well as the young adults. Jesus wants us to feel the words and speak the words. I know we can have the church come alive and to see the priest sing the songs with the outmost joy, it will start making the community, sing louder and enjoy coming to Mass.

I've been reading ParishWorld.net since my friend told me about it six months ago. Imagine my surprise when I saw my own parish is now a one of its parishes! Wow! This can only be good for St. Denis. I look cforward to stories from our parish members and ministries. You got yourself one solid reader here. More power to this new website. Thank you, Msgr., for doing this.

Dear Anonymous,
We need to be thankful that we have priests at our parish. Many parishes in California do not have resident priests anymore. All priests are different and they have different skill sets. Some are good speakers and some are not. But they are all trying their best. We should be listening to the message and not looking at the messenger. No matter how the homily is delivered, we should remind ourselves it is Jesus speaking to us. It's all about God's love. Maybe that will change the way you appreciate the messenger.

Hi guys! Just wanted to say that I really enjoy mass, I normally go either on Sunday mornings or Saturday afternoons. Personally, I especially enjoy Father Lucio's sermons. He's funny and endearing, very down to earth. I'll be keeping tabs on this new site. =)

Hello! I love coming to Saturday masses, and I'm happy to see that St. Denis has expanded to Parish World. Hopefully more people will discover it and they'll comment on the blogs more often.

Hi I'm a Confirmation II candidate and I'm excited for classes to start up again. I'd like to see the program improved and enriched by activities that relate somehow to God, rather than being lectured with behavior issues by the leaders. I understand that discipline is necessary on some kids, but the rest of us would appreciate doing something productive with our time in class, like learning about different saints or bible stories. It's discouraging when we have to listen to our leaders rant at us for an hour and half when we could be learning new things about our faith. Thanks, and I hope the leaders will consider these thoughts.

Dear anonymous aka Confirmation II student. I hear you and I do hope to try my very best this year to challenge the students on how they think about their faith. I teach in a way that expands the students thinking. Also, I do group work that is very enjoyable and unforgettable. I enjoy doing skits and even doing a catholic idol...but the bottom line is that God has given me a gift to speak the faith and promote a sense of prepareness as the candidates embark in this journey we call catholic faith. I hate lecturing but i make it fun and interesting. i will see you at Confirmation II '07-08 "the spirit of the mind, heart, and soul for the Lord."

I just want to say that I am very disappointed that Father Lucio is leaving after so short a time at St. Denis. My family and I send him our love and best wishes for the future. Please visit St. Denis sometimes, Father!!

I enjoyed hearing Msgr's comments about World Youth Day. Can we start a blog called "WYD Australia" and have the pilgrims share their experiences? Events like these have an unforgettable impact, especially on our youth, and a forum for them to share what moved them can be an opportunity to evangelize their friends, as well as the rest of us. Pictures would be nice too, but I'm not sure how people feel about posting themselves on the web. Does St. Denis have any guidelines, or is it something the Parish Council needs to discuss?

Hi MQ,

Thanks for your excellent suggestion. I'm setting up a new post for that on this blog right now. Please add your comments there.

Hello,
I would like to suggest that all parishioners treat the kneelers with respect. There is no need to bang them loudly when putting the kneelers up or down. This is the Lord's house and as such everything thats in it must be treated with respect and reverence.
